Financial Research Analyst (FRA)
Position Overview
As a FRA, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization in accordance with Indian accounting standards. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of Indian accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards, tax regulations, and other applicable laws and regulations.
- Review and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management and stakeholders, highlighting key financial insights and trends.
- Coordinate and support the annual external audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules, providing necessary documentation, and addressing audit queries.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the accounting team, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficient accounting procedures and controls to enhance accuracy, productivity, and compliance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and standards in India, and proactively communicate and implement any necessary changes within the organization.
- Conduct periodic financial analysis, variance analysis, and cost analysis to support decision-making and optimize financial performance.
- Monitor cash flow and manage working capital requirements to ensure adequate liquidity for the organization.
- Provide support during internal financial reviews, risk assessments, and other ad-hoc financial projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CA (Chartered Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are highly desirable.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or related roles, with a focus on Indian accounting principles.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian accounting standards (Indian GAAP) and their practical application in financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong understanding of Indian tax laws and regulations, including GST, income tax, and TDS provisions.
- Proficient in using accounting software and tools (e.g., Tally, Zoho, Quickbooks, SAP, Microsoft Excel) to manage financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and generate reports.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising and leading accounting teams, with excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial statements, conduct financial analysis, and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
