Financial Analyst Job Description
Position Summary
The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, creating reports, forecasting trends, and supporting business decision-making. This role works closely with finance, accounting, and leadership teams to ensure accurate budgeting, planning, and financial performance tracking.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and performance metrics.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor key financial indicators and provide insights to management.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Track budget variances and provide explanations for deviations.
- Support scenario planning and financial modeling.
3. Data Modeling & Insights
- Build and maintain financial models (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Interpret data trends and provide recommendations for business improvement.
- Conduct cost-benefit and ROI analyses.
4. Business Support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial inputs.
- Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, investments, and projects.
- Review financial performance of departments and products.
5. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure financial practices comply with GAAP and company policies.
- Prepare documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros preferred).
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and BI tools.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
