POSITION OVERVIEW: Finance SME Lead Job
Title: Finance SME Lead Oracle R12 (India Localization)
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) Lead with strong domain expertise in Indian finance and taxation to support and guide the implementation of India localization in Oracle E-Business Suite R12. This role will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the implementation team,
ensuring accurate translation of statutory and operational requirements into system solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Finance SME Leadership
Act as the primary SME for finance processes including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR),
Fixed Assets (FA), and Cash Management (CM).
Provide deep expertise in Indian statutory requirements:
GST (Goods and Services Tax)
TDS (Tax Deducted at Source)
Withholding taxes and regulatory compliance
Validate business requirements and ensure alignment with finance best practices.
2. India Localization Expertise
Drive requirements and validation for Oracle Financials for India (OFI) modules.
Ensure accurate setup and usage of localization features including:
GST transactions and reporting
TDS calculations and returns
India-specific statutory reports
Keep track of regulatory updates and ensure system compliance.
3. Business & Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with functional consultants to define and review:
Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
Functional Specification Documents (FSDs)
Provide clarifications and decisions on complex finance scenarios.
Participate in design workshops and solution reviews.
4. Testing & Validation
Lead finance-related testing activities:
System Integration Testing (SIT)
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Define test scenarios and validate end-to-end business flows.
Ensure all statutory and reporting requirements are thoroughly tested.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a key point of contact for finance stakeholders.
Conduct training sessions and knowledge transfer to end users.
Support change management and user adoption initiatives.
6. Go-Live & Post-Implementation Support
Support cutover activities from a finance perspective.
Validate opening balances, transactions, and statutory configurations.
Provide post-go-live support and issue resolution.
Required Qualifications:
8-12 years of experience in finance operations and ERP implementations.
Strong hands-on experience with Oracle EBS R12 Financials.
In-depth knowledge of Indian taxation and statutory compliance (GST, TDS).
Experience working in India localization projects.
