Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Finance Manager role based in Chennai. The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including managing general ledger activities, accounts payable and receivable, and daily cash flow. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, management reports, and budgets, as well as monitoring variances and recommending corrective actions. The Finance Manager will handle financial planning and analysis, support forecasting, and contribute to strategic decision-making with data-driven insights. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, coordinating with auditors, banks, and external advisors, and mentoring finance team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Qualifications
- Strong core finance and accounting skills, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, and cost control.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards, taxation, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
- Experience using ERP systems, financial software, and advanced Excel for modeling and reporting.
- Proven ability to interpret financial data, generate meaningful insights, and support strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- People management capabilities, including mentoring, task allocation, and performance oversight.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field; professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, or MBA in Finance are preferred.
- Prior experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar senior finance role; experience in software, SaaS, or retail/distribution domains is an advantage.
