Job Description

Role Overview:

Looking for a highly competent and strategic Finance Controller to lead our finance and accounting functions. This role will act as a key business partner to the founders and leadership team, driving financial planning, analysis, and decision support. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of financial operations, compliance, and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a business finance partner, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate directly with founders and department heads to support strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Strengthen and scale FP&A systems, tools, and processes to support business forecasting and planning.
  • Develop and implement robust financial strategies, accounting policies, and SOPs.
  • Ensure timely monthly and year-end closing of books and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and publish monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Manage all compliance related to finance, accounts, taxation, and statutory requirements.
  • Deliver insightful financial reporting and analysis to guide strategic decisions.
  • Monitor and manage cash flows, optimizing working capital.
  • Ensure regulatory and statutory compliance across all financial operations.
  • Lead financial reviews and provide data-driven recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Oversee the finalization of accounts and ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Prepare financial documentation and reports for fundraising activities, including liaising with banks and investors.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Prepare accurate financial forecasts and report deviations from the plan.
  • Leverage advanced MS Excel and FP&A tools to enhance financial modeling and reporting.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in finance leadership roles, preferably in mid-sized or growth-stage companies.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, Indian taxation, and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and MIS reporting.
  • Knowledge of Excel and experience in implementing or managing FP&A systems.
