Job Description

Company Description Brain Bristle is a non-profit organization focused on autism, inclusion, education, and the arts. The organization's flagship program places Social Work Fellows in low-income schools across Mumbai to support children and adolescents on the autism spectrum and those with ID. Brain Bristle also works closely with schools, educators, families, and communities to create inclusive learning environments and expand access to resources.

Our work contributes to improving outcomes for neurodivergent students.

Brain Bristle is looking for a part-time, detail-oriented Finance Manager to manage the financial operations of our growing non-profit organisation.

What you'll do

  • Manage day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping and financial records
  • Track income, expenses, budgets and cash flow
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and budgets for management
  • Manage payments, invoices, reimbursements and vendor records
  • Ensure timely statutory filings, compliance and documentation
  • Coordinate with our CA, auditors, banks and other financial partners
  • Maintain clear financial records for grants, donors and CSR funds
  • Support grant budgets, utilisation reports and financial reporting
  • Help leadership make informed financial and budgeting decisions
  • Develop simple systems to strengthen financial controls as Brain Bristle grows

We're looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in finance/accounts, preferably with an NGO or growing organisation
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting and financial reporting
  • Experience with Tally / Zoho Books / QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Good understanding of Indian statutory and NGO financial compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with leadership

Experience with CSR, grants, FCRA or non-profit finance is a strong plus.

Compensation

Rs, 20,000-Rs 25,000/ month (based on experience)
