In this vital role, you will report to the OPI&A Finance Senior Manager, supporting the overall Tech & Workforce Strategy initiative—helping shape Amgen of the Future so that we continue to best serve our patients.
The successful candidate is expected to have knowledge in accounting, FP&A, and case modeling. They will be meticulous, results-focused, and thrive under pressure.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing, reviewing, and pressure testing complex financial modeling and analytics
- Validation of financial baselines (spend & headcount), case ambition savings, value confirmation, value extraction, and value realization/actual results reporting
- Collaborating with tech and data scientists, business SMEs, and IT professionals to develop business cases, value collection modeling, and support automation and long-term financial planning

Basic Qualifications
- Master's degree and 4 to 6 years of Finance experience
- OR
- Bachelor's degree and 6 to 8 years of Finance experience
- OR
- Diploma and 10 to 12 years of Finance experience
Additional expectations include:
- Knowledge of financial management and accounting principles
- Proficiency in financial planning, analysis, and reporting
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements
- Experience with ERP systems and financial software
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Experience in a global, multi-site corporation
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or past experience in accounting
- Financial and managerial experience in a pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting senior leadership as an FP&A business partner or in an advisory role
- Experience in hiring and staff performance management
- Experience preparing executive communications—both written and oral presentations
Good to Have Skills
- Familiarity with the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Experience in global finance operations
- Knowledge of advanced financial modeling techniques
- Proficiency in data analytics and business intelligence tools
- Experience with finance transformation involving modern technologies
- Prior experience in a multinational capability center
- Experience with:
- Oracle Hyperion/EPM
- SAP
- Anaplan
- Tableau/Power BI
