Job Description

Loch Corporate Services Private Limited is an India-based support team for an Australian legal and migration services firm. Our Australian partners are lawyers and migration agents who assist clients with visa applications and related legal matters. Loch handles the behind-the-scenes work — case preparation, legal research, documentation, finance, and administrative support — so that the Australian team can focus on advising clients. All work is carried out under the supervision of our Australian counterparts, with the highest standards of confidentiality, compliance, and professionalism.

About the Role

The Finance Executive will support the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping function for the Australian client firm (AML), working closely with the Australian finance team. This is a hands-on role suited to a finance graduate or early-career professional who is keen to build a strong foundation in accounting, with regular exposure to international correspondence and reporting standards. The successful candidate will combine accuracy with clear written and spoken English, since a significant portion of the role involves direct communication with Australian stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping and Accounting

  • Recording day-to-day financial transactions accurately in the accounting system (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or equivalent).
  • Maintaining the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Reconciling bank accounts, credit card statements, and merchant transactions on a regular basis.
  • Processing accounts payable: verifying invoices, matching to approvals, and preparing payment runs.
  • Processing accounts receivable: raising client invoices, following up on outstanding balances, and updating receipts.
  • Assisting in month-end and year-end closing activities, including supporting schedules and reconciliations.

Reporting and Compliance Support

  • Assisting with preparation of management reports, expense reports, and basic financial summaries.
  • Supporting BAS, GST, and other Australian statutory filings under guidance from the Australian finance team.
  • Maintaining organised digital records and supporting documentation for audit and review purposes.
  • Flagging discrepancies, unusual transactions, or outstanding items promptly to the supervisor.

Australian Correspondence and Coordination

  • Liaising over email (and occasionally on calls) with the Australian finance team, partners, and external vendors.
  • Responding to finance-related queries in clear, professional written English.
  • Drafting routine communications such as payment confirmations, invoice queries, and reconciliation notes.
  • Coordinating with internal teams in Gurugram to obtain information needed to close the books.

Confidentiality and Controls

  • Handling all financial information with the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Following internal controls, approval matrices, and documentation standards consistently.
  • Adhering to data protection and information security policies at all times.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B.Com / BBA in Finance / M.Com).
  • Freshers are welcome; 0 – 3 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting concepts: double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Exposure to accounting software such as Tally, Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks is an advantage; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, lookups, basic pivot tables).
  • Strong spoken and written English, with the confidence to communicate directly with Australian stakeholders.
  • CA Inter, CMA Inter, ACCA part-qualified, or pursuing a relevant professional qualification will be viewed favourably.

Required Skills

  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy in numbers and documentation.
  • Reliability, ownership, and a willingness to follow through on tasks until closure.
  • Ability to manage time across multiple recurring tasks and deadlines.
  • Professional, courteous communication style suited to international correspondence.
  • Discretion, integrity, and respect for confidentiality.
  • A learning mindset — open to feedback, training, and progressively taking on more complex work.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to international accounting practices and direct working relationships with the Australian team.

Pay range and compensation package

  • Four weeks of paid annual leave.
  • Health insurance coverage.
  • Provident Fund (PF) contributions in accordance with Indian regulations.
  • Performance-linked bonuses, subject to eligibility and company policy.
