Job Purpose

The role is responsible for providing direction and guidance to the finance and accounts team, ensuring effective management of accounting and financial operations. This includes maintaining the General Ledger, preparing monthly balance sheet schedules and financial reports, and supporting audit processes through coordination with auditors and internal departments. The role also involves resolving audit queries and preparing required documentation such as representation letters.

Key Accountabilities

Financial Operations

  • Oversee the company's income, investments, and expenses
  • Prepare financial reports, MIS, and cash flow statements
  • Prepare and circulate Food Cost (Flash) reports twice a week
  • Conduct F&B discount analysis and cost control reporting
  • Monitor financial trends and business performance
  • Prepare Post-Dated Cheque (PDC) receivable and payable journal entries
  • Pass month-end journal vouchers and ensure proper accounting
  • Verify credits reflected in bank statements
  • Ensure timely payment and proper accounting of statutory dues including GST and TDS
  • Support audit requirements by preparing and collating necessary data
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal and external audit teams
  • Perform ad-hoc finance and accounting activities as required

Team Management

  • Supervise finance staff and coordinate work schedules
  • Ensure timely completion of financial statements
  • Monitor overall financial health of the organisation
  • Communicate with senior management and other departments to maximise profitability and reduce costs

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Qualification

  • Graduate in Commerce or Business Administration
  • Postgraduate qualification preferred
  • Part-qualified professional accountants (CA / CMA / ACCA / CPA) will be an added advantage

Experience

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in a similar finance or accounting role
  • Hospitality industry experience preferred

Skills Required

  • Strong team management and leadership skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Willingness to work extended hours when required
