The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy is currently looking for a Service Engineer for the High Voltage Business to join their team in Doddaballapura, Bangalore India. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual. How you'll make an impact

  • Capable to supervise the Installation, testing and commissioning of static converter (IGBT based), thyristors switched capacitors and active filters, similar panels, control relay panels, low voltage and medium voltage capacitor switched panel, outdoor capacitor banks, APFC panels, MV STATCOM panels (SVG), FSC banks, SVC banks etc.
  • Familiar with HMI operations, able to operate customize software and hardware interface. i.e. numeric relays/ drives.
  • Capable to do hands on testing and commissioning of 11/33/132/220/KV complete switch yard including control relay panels, relay, breaker, isolator, IT etc.
  • Identifies technical problem makes analysis though remote or onsite activity in any service categories installation maintenance, advance services testing, retrofit upgrades etc.
  • Capable to do harmonic measurement, data collection and report generation.
  • The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Customer Relations: Contributes customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation. Create and maintains good relationship with customer and identifies new sales opportunities.
  • HSE: ABRA preparation, applies safety rules and safety practices as well as environmental responsibilities. Electrical safety (10 LSR), necessary PPEs knowledge.
  • Strategic Leadership: Coordinate with Operations, SCM and project management personnel for deliverables on daily basis.
  • Projects: Capable to handle green field projects independently including civil, installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Continuous Improvement: Good inter-personnel skills, flexible Job demands, travelling.
  • Communication: Customer handling skills, coordination/communication skills for taking support from cross functional team member to address the customer urgency.
  • Critical competencies required: Capable to prepare RCA/8D reports, ABRA, FQP, Bar chart, testing/commissioning/performance report singed by customer. Prepare detailed analysis report and give feedback to design quality for improvement action in weekly call.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • A Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical & electronics engineering.
  • Minimum 5-6 years for Diploma professional & 3-4 years for degree professional work experience
  • Preference will be for qualified candidate worked on same / relevant background in power quality products and solutions.
  • LV/MV APFC, fixed/filter outdoor banks, TSC, HPFC, SVG, STATCOM, AHF Product knowledge.
  • Knowledge of different protection relays, controllers, PLC, HMI.
  • Should have knowledge of the relevant protection settings, % V thd & % I thd limits as per standards.
  • Knowledge to handle various testing and measurement equipment's i.e. megger, multimeter, .clamp-on, CPC100 current injection kits, Hi-pot kits, harmonic analyzer etc.
  • Knowledge of doing configuration and settings in controller, relays, MFM etc.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
