Role Description The Field Sales Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata, responsible for driving sales of First Penny Software's products and services to businesses across various sectors. In this position, the Field Sales Executive will identify and qualify leads, conduct client meetings and product demonstrations, and present tailored solutions from the company's portfolio, including web, mobile, POS, CRM, and AI chatbot offerings. The role involves managing the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and negotiation to closing deals and ensuring smooth handover to the implementation and support teams. The Field Sales Executive will maintain regular contact with existing clients, gather feedback, and identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities, while preparing accurate sales reports and forecasts for management. Collaboration with marketing and product teams to refine sales pitches, participate in local events, and strengthen First Penny Software's presence in the Kolkata market is also part of the day-to-day responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Strong field sales and business development skills, including lead generation, client engagement, and negotiation.
- Experience selling IT products or software solutions such as web platforms, mobile apps, POS, CRM, or related technologies.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into suitable technical or digital solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build long-term client relationships.
- Good organizational and time management abilities, including managing pipelines, planning visits, and meeting sales targets.
- Comfort with using digital tools for reporting, CRM systems, and basic productivity software (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations).
- Knowledge of the local Kolkata business landscape and willingness to travel within the region for client meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or a related field; relevant sales experience in technology or services is preferred.
- Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
