Fiber Optic Engineer

This role is a full time role with our client in Chennai for their global engineering and ops center.

Purpose -

This role requires to lead the preparation and Management of fibre optic system as per our client requirements during the tender phase.

Responsibilities -

Support tendering in the following aspects

Analyse and review the fibre requirements in tender technical specification documents and develop effective designs and solutions.

Estimate costs for components such as materials, accessories related to production, installation, and type tests.

Develop and/or supply comprehensive design reports, installation guides, and manuals. Technical discussion with clients & suppliers.

Stay updated with the latest advancements in fibre optic technology and incorporate them into tender proposals.

Primary tasks -

Tender Preparation: Analyze and review the fiber requirements in tender. Prepare technical Specification documents and develop effective design and solutions, cost estimate, design report, installation guide within time & right quality.

Prepare clear and concise clarification questions for the client to address the unclear requirements & note any deviations

Coordinate with various departments internally during tender phase

Handle suppliers with technical clarification & obtain quotes for the products / material.

Client interaction when necessary to understand requirements / clarify the design solutions

Stay focused on new innovation in the field of fiber optic technology to enable them in tenders Continuously seek opportunity to improve the tender process & review the process with various stakeholders

Education -

B.E / M.E in Mechanical / Electrical / Optical Engineering or equivalent in the field of physics

Experience -

1+ years onwards with experience in Fiber optics either in NPD/R&D/Tendering/Project management.

Travel -

International travelling for training and projects
