We are looking for designers who can take raw creative energy Indian textiles like Banarasi and brocade, global fashion trends, and our brand ideology and turn them into contemporary, wearable pieces.
From mood boards to sketches to production-ready garments, you'll play a key role in shaping the visual identity of the brand. You will collaborate closely with the founder, design head, production team, and later with marketing teams for look-books, shoots, and collection launches.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough trend research across Indian heritage wear and global contemporary fashion.
Conceptualize seasonal themes and create mood boards aligning with the House of Resha aesthetic.
Sketch designs (manual or digital) using tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or any relevant design software.
Select fabrics, trims, and materials based on drape, texture, cost, and brand quality standards.
Work with pattern-makers/technical teams to create tech packs and ensure production-ready designs.
Oversee sample development, fittings, corrections, and quality checks.
Collaborate with sourcing and production teams to ensure feasibility, cost efficiency, and fabric availability.
Maintain a consistent brand language merging Indian crafts with modern silhouettes.
Deliver within timelines and adapt quickly to a fast-moving startup environment.
Assist with styling, look-books, marketing shoots, and collection presentations when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Applied Arts, or equivalent experience.
Strong sketching abilities (hand-drawn and/or digital).
Familiarity with design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD, or similar).
Strong understanding of Indian weaves and traditional fabrics especially brocade, Banarasi, silk, Bandhani, Ikat and organza.
Creativity with the ability to blend traditional textiles with modern cuts and silhouettes.
Good communication and collaboration skills across design, production, and marketing teams.
Excellent attention to detail from sketches to sample fittings to final garments.
Preparedness to work in a startup environment with cross-functional responsibilities.
(Optional but preferred) Experience working with sarees, ethnic wear, fusion wear, brocade, or managing pattern-making teams.
