Job Description
About DROPZ
DROPZ is India's first true limited-edition platform, a culture-forward destination where every product drop is rare, intentional, and never restocked. We aren't just building a brand; we're building a platform that curates stories through exclusive in-house drops, creator collaborations, and collectible releases across fashion, lifestyle, and beyond. Every drop is a moment, but the platform is the big picture and our brand must ignite cultural hype.
This is a high-ownership leadership role for a designer who can move fast, think in systems, and still obsess over the last 1 percent of finish. Depending on your depth and leadership range, this scope may be calibrated as Associate Team Lead or Team Lead, but the expectation stays the same, build weekly cultural artifacts with a team that thrives in a 0 to 100 startup environment.
What Youll Do
You will own DROPZ product design from vision to production handoff, running a tight operating cadence that enables weekly drops without compromising collector-grade quality. Youll lead a team, align cross-functional stakeholders, and turn cultural signals into rare, on-brand pieces that are ready to ship.
Product Strategy and Drop Roadmap
Define and own the product vision, translating scarcity, storytelling, and cultural relevance into a practical roadmap with themed drop cadences, innovation pillars, and clear decision rules that the team can execute weekly.
Run continuous trend immersion across global and local fashion, streetwear, material tech, and Gen Z behavior, then convert insights into briefs that improve concept hit-rate, differentiation, and long-term brand consistency.
Benchmark relevant competitors and adjacent brands to inform pricing, volume, and exclusivity decisions, then align these tradeoffs with the Business Head and Ops so each drop is intentional, feasible, and on-brand.
Storytelling and Concept Direction
Host creative calls with creators to extract their essence, then translate it into one signature piece per week with a clear narrative, references, and design constraints that protect authenticity and collectibility.
Ideate and lead two or more themed drops per month, building moodboards, design directions, and story arcs, then distribute structured briefs with timelines, review gates, and ownership so execution never drifts.
Approve mockups and tech pack direction with a ruthless quality bar, ensuring each concept reads as DROPZ at first glance and still holds up under production realities like fabric behavior and trim availability.
Design Execution and Production Readiness
Oversee the full design cycle, concept to sketch to tech pack to 3D mockup to prototype to sampling to QC to production handoff, keeping documentation clean so Operations can execute without ambiguity.
Set collector-grade standards for fit, finish, labeling, packaging, and authenticity integration, then run checklists and review passes that catch issues early and prevent costly late-stage rework.
Track and drive delivery KPIs, maintaining a 100 percent weekly drop cadence and a 30-day or less sample turnaround by building buffers, enforcing review timelines, and escalating constraints before they become blockers.
Team Leadership and Operating Cadence
Lead the team through daily stand-ups, weekly planning, and crisp task delegation, balancing creative freedom with structured checkpoints so output stays fast, aligned, and production-ready.
Mentor juniors through feedback loops, design critiques, and process coaching, raising craft and speed over time while protecting morale, clarity, and a collaborative culture built on accountability.
Cross-Functional Alignment and Drop Readiness
Act as the single source of truth between Business Head, Brand and Marketing, and Operations, translating creative intent into executable specs while protecting the story, scarcity logic, and launch calendar.
Resolve bottlenecks across design, sampling, and production by running clear handoffs, decision logs, and escalation paths, ensuring stakeholders always know status, risks, and next actions.
Run bi-weekly retrospectives to tighten storytelling, design efficiency, and production quality, then implement process improvements that show up in fewer sampling loops, cleaner QC outcomes, and smoother launches.
Who You Are
You have 3 or more years in product design for apparel or accessories, and you can show shipped work where concept, construction, and storytelling all held up under real production constraints.
You can lead a team with clarity and calm, setting priorities, running cadences, and giving specific feedback that improves speed and craft without creating confusion or friction.
You think in systems and roadmaps, turning cultural insights into repeatable drop pipelines, clear briefs, and review gates that protect quality while moving fast.
You are comfortable being the final approver on design direction and production readiness, making hard calls early to avoid late-stage chaos and ensuring handoffs are unambiguous.
You collaborate tightly with marketing and ops, translating narrative into launch assets and translating constraints into better design, so the drop lands culturally and operationally.
You are fluent in product development hygiene, tech packs, measurements, specs, and QC checklists, and you maintain documentation that makes execution reliable across stakeholders.
You are deeply culture-aware, trend-immersed, and taste-led, but you validate ideas with real signals like community feedback and drop performance to evolve what wins over time.
You thrive in a 0 to 100 startup environment, bring daily intensity and ownership, and actively build a positive team culture by being dependable, open to feedback, and focused on outcomes over titles.
What We Offer
High ownership, you lead drops that ship weekly and shape what DROPZ becomes, with direct access to decision-makers and the responsibility to set the bar for design and execution.
A culture-forward canvas where your work becomes collectible artifacts, not generic catalog output, and where storytelling and scarcity are treated as real product strategy.
Growth through building from 0 to 100 together, you will strengthen your leadership, process design, and product instincts by owning real outcomes and iterating fast.
Speed with structure, clear goals, tight cadences, and strong cross-functional partnership so you can move boldly without compromising production readiness.
