Faculty Positions in Social Science

We invite applications for faculty positions in Social Science for our Undergraduate Programmes.

We are particularly interested in scholars trained in Contemporary History, Economics, Political Science, and Human Geography, especially those whose work engages across disciplines. As the programme is interdisciplinary in orientation, faculty will be expected to teach across disciplinary boundaries and contribute to a broad-based Social Science curriculum.

We seek applicants with diverse teaching and research portfolios.

Azim Premji University, Bhopal, started operations in August 2023, offering postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The first phase of campus construction is complete and the overall 50-acre campus with state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities will be ready over the next few years. We expect to grow to about 4000 students and 500 members over the next few years.

In addition to teaching in our programmes, we offer faculty an enriching and fulfilling institution-building experience, including participation in interdisciplinary programme design, the development and implementation of key institutional processes, culture building, and engagement with various institutional bodies. The University also encourages and supports faculty members in pursuing their own research.

We seek applicants who identify with the purpose of the University and are keen to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of courses in our undergraduate programme.

Requirements:

• A relevant advanced degree in History, Economics, Political Science, or Human Geography
• An active research agenda and the ability and interest to teach a diverse classroom
• A commitment to contributing to a just, equitable, humane and sustainable society
