Horticulture Executive/Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and enhancing all horticulture-related activities across the Infosys campus. The role ensures aesthetic excellence, plant health, sustainability, compliance, and cost-effective operations for both indoor and outdoor landscapes, supporting Infosys commitment to a green, healthy, and sustainable work environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Landscape & Horticulture Management
- Manage, maintain, enhance, and periodically upgrade/replace outdoor and indoor plants across the Infosys campus.
- Ensure optimal health and appearance of soft landscapes (gardens, lawns, shrubs, trees) and coordination with hardscape areas.
- Plan and execute seasonal plantation, flowering cycles, pruning, lawn care, and transplantation activities.
- Monitor and carry out soil nourishment, including manure application, composting, fertilization, mulching, and cultivation practices.
2. Irrigation & Water Management
- Manage and maintain water irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip irrigation, pipelines, valves, and smart irrigation system.
- Prepare and control watering schedules for gardens and indoor plants to optimize water usage and plant health.
- Support water conservation initiatives through efficient irrigation practices and reuse wherever feasible.
3. Waste Management & Sustainability
- Oversee garden waste treatment, including:
- Vermicomposting
- Organic Waste Converters (OWC)
- Compost pits and mulch preparation
- Promote sustainable horticulture practices aligned with Infosys ESG and green campus initiatives.
4. Manpower & Vendor Management
- Manage and lead a team of gardeners, supervisors, and support staff.
- Coordinate with manpower suppliers for deployment, replacements, and scaling of workforce.
- Monitor and ensure labour law compliances, including attendance, wages, statutory obligations, PPE usage, and safety practices.
5. Planning, Budgeting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on:
- Soft landscape performance
- Garden maintenance activities
- Consumption of manure, fertilizers, and materials
- Develop annual and periodic projections and provisions for horticulture-related consumables and services.
- Support budgeting and cost optimization initiatives.
6. Procurement, AMC & Inventory Management
- Manage AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) for garden equipment (lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, blowers, etc.).
- Plan and execute procurement of:
- Gardening consumables
- Tools and equipment
- PPEs for gardening staff
- Irrigation materials and spare parts
- Maintain accurate inventory records of all horticulture-related items, ensuring proper storage, issuance, and replenishment controls.
7. Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Ensure adherence to Infosys safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Enforce safe working practices and proper use of PPE by gardening teams.
- Coordinate audits, inspections, and corrective actions related to landscaping services.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscaping, soil science, and irrigation systems
- Experience in large campus or IT park landscaping operations
- Vendor and manpower management skills
- Budgeting, reporting, and MIS documentation
- Knowledge of sustainable landscaping and organic waste management
- Strong coordination, communication, and team leadership abilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscaping, or related field
- Certification in horticulture or landscape management preferred
Experience
- 9-15 years of relevant experience in horticulture or landscape management
