Job Title: CAD Drafter Fabrication Drafter
Job Summary
We are seeking a CAD / Fabrication Drafter Metal & Steel Fabrication to prepare accurate 2D fabrication and shop drawings for metal and structural steel works. The role focuses on drafting based on provided inputs, specifications, and references.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare 2D fabrication and shop drawings using AutoCAD as per project requirements
- Develop detailed drawings for structural steel and metal components
- Interpret sketches, mark-ups, and technical inputs provided by the design or project team
- Apply correct welding symbols, bolting details, and fabrication annotations in drawings
- Revise and update drawings based on internal feedback and change requests
- Ensure drawings adhere to project standards, accuracy, and documentation practices
- Maintain proper drawing records and version control
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D fabrication drawings)
- Good understanding of structural steel sections such as I-beams, H-beams, channels, angles, and tubes
- Working knowledge of welding symbols and types, bolting details, cutting, and bending processes
- Experience in preparing shop drawings for metal and steel fabrication projects
- Ability to work with attention to detail and meet project timelines
Experience
- 24 years of relevant experience as a CAD / Fabrication Drafter
- Candidates with strong shop drawing experience may be considered irrespective of exact qualifications
