✔Job Overview
The Manager – Fabric Planning is responsible for end-to-end planning and execution of supply operations across knitting, weaving, and dyeing processes in Techno Activewear fabric mill. This role ensures optimal production planning, material availability, and inventory control to meet demand, delivery timelines, and operational efficiency targets. The position requires strong analytical capability, cross-functional coordination, and a deep understanding of textile manufacturing processes.
✔Key Responsibilities
1. Order Management
- Review and validate fabric orders, ensuring alignment with production capacity and lead times
- Prioritize orders based on delivery commitments and business requirements
- Monitor order status and ensure timely execution from planning to dispatch
- Coordinate with merchandising teams for order clarity and changes
2. Production Planning
- Develop and implement detailed production plans for knitting, weaving, and dyeing units
- Optimize machine utilization, and production schedules
- Ensure smooth workflow across departments to meet delivery timelines
- Continuously track production performance and adjust plans as required
3. Inventory & Material Planning
- Plan and manage raw material requirements
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stock-outs or excess holding
- Coordinate with procurement for timely material availability
- Monitor WIP (Work-in-Progress) and finished fabric inventory
4. Forecasting, Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze historical data and demand trends to support accurate forecasting
- Generate MIS reports on production, inventory, and order fulfillment
- Use data insights to improve planning efficiency and reduce lead times
- Track KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time-In-Full), capacity utilization, and inventory turns
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with production, quality, procurement, merchandising, and logistics teams
- Ensure alignment across departments for seamless execution
- Participate in regular planning and review meetings
- Drive communication to resolve bottlenecks and improve coordination
6. Vendor & Capacity Management
- Coordinate with external job workers for outsourced processes
- Assess and plan capacity requirements across internal and external resources
- Monitor vendor performance in terms of cost, and delivery
- Develop strategies to optimize capacity utilization and scalability
✔Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering or a related field
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in supply planning, production planning, or PPC within textile/fabric manufacturing
- Strong experience in ERP systems, planning tools, and advanced Excel
