Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Eye Testing Equipment Service Technician to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair ophthalmic and optometric diagnostic equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure equipment operates accurately and reliably, supporting high standards of patient care in clinics, hospitals, and optical centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, calibrate, and commission eye testing and diagnostic equipment (e.g., Auto Refractors, Chair Unit, Lensometers, Vision Charts).
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to ensure optimal performance and compliance with manufacturer standards.
- Diagnose technical faults and carry out on-site or workshop repairs efficiently.
- Respond to service calls and provide timely technical support to customers.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
- Train end users on proper equipment operation, basic troubleshooting, and care.
- Coordinate with manufacturers or suppliers for spare parts and technical updates.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Travel to stores / sites as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience servicing medical or ophthalmic equipment (preferred).
- Strong understanding of electronics, optics, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ophthalmic or optometric diagnostic equipment.
- Manufacturer training or certifications.
Work Environment:
- Combination of field service at stores & base location.
- May require lifting and handling sensitive equipment.
