Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Noida for an Experienced Surgery Coder. The role involves accurately reviewing and assigning medical codes for surgical procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory and payer requirements. The individual will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the documentation supports coding accuracy and address any discrepancies. Additionally, the role will involve maintaining updated knowledge of coding guidelines and standards within the healthcare industry.

Duties/Responsibility
  • Strong experience in Surgery Coding and Medical Coding
  • Review operative notes to abstract information and apply CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes
  • Verify LCD/NCD information as appropriate
  • Utilise NCCI edits, AMA CPT assistant, AHA Coding clinic, and other resources as needed
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology and Health Information Management
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation review
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience with surgical coding and understanding of relevant regulations is an advantage
Mental/Physical Requirements
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload with little or no supervision
  • Ability to collaborate and interact with various departments
Required Qualifications
  • Coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, RHIT, CCS etc., no apprentice designation accepted at this time)
  • One year experience with outpatient coding
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a surgery Coder or E&M
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology and diagnostic, procedural coding (CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS)
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and State regulations
