Job Title: ExecutiveAdmissions & Financial Counselling
Job Summary
The Executive Admission & Financial Counselling is responsible for managing the inpatient admission process and providing financial guidance to patients and their families. The role ensures accurate patient registration, clear communication of estimated treatment costs, and timely collection of deposits. The executive acts as a key point of contact for patients during admission, ensuring a smooth, transparent, and patient-friendly experience while supporting hospital revenue assurance.
Key Responsibilities
Admission Management
- Manage the end-to-end inpatient admission process, including patient registration and bed allocation.
- Collect and verify patient demographic details, identity proof, and required admission documentation.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, bed management, and the admission desk to ensure timely room allocation.
- Ensure all admission forms, consent forms, and financial undertakings are duly completed and signed.
- Update patient details accurately in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
Financial Counselling
- Provide patients and their attendants with clear information regarding estimated treatment costs, package tariffs, and hospital policies.
- Explain financial obligations, including deposits, advance payments, and payment modes.
- Guide patients regarding available insurance/TPA coverage and expected out-of-pocket expenses.
- Counsel self-pay patients regarding payment plans and financial processes where applicable.
- Maintain transparency and clarity to prevent billing disputes at the time of discharge.
Billing & Deposit Collection
- Collect admission deposits based on hospital policy and estimated treatment costs.
- Generate deposit receipts and ensure accurate posting in the HIS.
- Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions and patient acknowledgments.
- Monitor deposit adequacy and inform patients/attendants if additional advances are required.
Coordination & Communication
- Act as a liaison between patients, consultants, nursing staff, the admission desk, and the billing team.
- Provide clear guidance to patients regarding admission procedures and hospital services.
- Ensure a patient-centric approach while managing admission and financial discussions.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of admissions, deposits, and financial counselling interactions.
- Prepare daily admission and deposit reports as required by the management.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, documentation standards, and audit requirements.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- MBA / PG Diploma in Hospital Administration or Healthcare Management (preferred).
- 28 years of experience in hospital admissions, financial counseling, or patient services.
- Hands-on experience with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) or hospital billing software.
