Job Description

Procurement and Sourcing: Collaborate with the procurement team to identify and select reliable suppliers for various materials, equipment, and goods required by the organization
Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms to secure favorable deals
Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory management strategies to maintain adequate stock levels while avoiding overstocking or stockouts
Monitor inventory levels, track usage patterns, and forecast future demand to plan procurement activities effectively
Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries, resolve any issues, and negotiate favorable terms for the organization
Quality Control: Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that all incoming materials meet the required quality standards and specifications
Implement quality checks and inspections as needed
Storage and Warehousing: Oversee the organization's warehousing and storage facilities to ensure proper handling, storage, and protection of materials
Implement safety measures and best practices to prevent loss, damage, or theft
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels, purchases, and materials transactions
Generate regular reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and suggesting improvements
Cost Management: Monitor costs related to materials and inventory management
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize expenses without compromising on quality
Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance materials and stores processes to increase efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supply chain performance
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments such as production, finance, and logistics to ensure smooth materials flow and timely fulfillment of orders
