Key Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
Cold Storage Operations
- Oversee daily operations of cold storage units, ensuring temperature-sensitive inventory is stored and handled correctly.
- Monitor and maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels across all storage zones.
- Ensure product quality and integrity through regular inspections and audits.
Technical Maintenance & Infrastructure
- Lead the breakdown response team to resolve equipment failures promptly and safely.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Supervise critical infrastructure including fire pumps, substations, HVAC systems, and backup power units.
- Approve and manage spare parts requisitions and inventory for maintenance activities.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure strict adherence to FSSAI, HACCP, ISO, and other food safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, issue work permits, and enforce safety protocols.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct regular mock drills and manage emergency response plans.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily cost analysis reports & Temperature monitoring reports.
Maintain daily shift logbooks and submit detailed shift reports.
- Prepare MIS reports on breakdowns, maintenance activities, and energy usage.
- Track and analyse operational data to identify trends and drive improvements.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and mentor technical staff and contractors, ensuring high performance and accountability.
- Delegate tasks effectively during multiple breakdowns to ensure simultaneous resolution.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Energy Management & Sustainability
- Drive energy-saving initiatives and monitor energy consumption metrics.
- Implement green technologies and sustainable practices in cold storage operations.

Technical Skills Required
- Expertise in industrial refrigeration systems (ammonia/Freon-based).
- Proficiency in electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and automation.
- Experience with CMMS, SCADA, HMI, and IoT-based monitoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, motors, and HVAC.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to conduct predictive maintenance using thermography, vibration analysis, etc.
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Power BI, WMS).
- Strong documentation and SOP management capabilities.
- Experience in commissioning and troubleshooting electrical/electronic & refrigeration equipment.
