Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Executive Chef role based in Mumbai at Queen Margherita's Pizzeria. The Executive Chef will lead daily kitchen operations across multiple locations, including menu execution, food preparation, cooking, plating, and quality control for all pizza and Italian-inspired offerings. Responsibilities include designing and updating menus, developing new dishes, standardizing recipes, and ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning. The role will oversee kitchen staff scheduling, training, and performance, foster a safe and respectful work environment, and coordinate closely with front-of-house teams for smooth service. The Executive Chef will also manage food costs, inventory, vendor relationships, hygiene and safety standards, and compliance with local regulations while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.

Qualifications

  • Strong culinary skills in Italian cuisine, particularly pizza-making, dough handling, and wood-fired or stone-oven techniques.
  • Proven experience in menu development, recipe creation, and food presentation for a high-volume restaurant or pizzeria.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing, training, and mentoring diverse kitchen teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards, with a track record of maintaining a clean and compliant kitchen.
  • Experience with kitchen operations, including inventory control, vendor management, and food cost optimization.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on consistency and efficiency.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with front-of-house staff and management.
  • Formal culinary education or equivalent professional experience in a similar leadership role is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
  • Passion for hospitality, guest satisfaction, and building a positive, inclusive kitchen culture.
