Job Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Sets the long term functional strategy aligned with enterprise priorities and growth objectives shapes multi year planning cycles to support scalability and competitiveness.

  • Serves as a senior strategic advisor to C suite and executive leaders on organizational effectiveness, market trends, and future capabilities shapes and influences enterprise level decisions in senior leadership forums.

  • Influences ELT and cross-functional HR leadership (Compensation, HRSS, Employer Branding, Event Management) to align talent acquisition strategies with enterprise priorities and drive regional transformation initiatives.

  • Owns transformation initiatives that delivers measurable impact on growth and operational excellence.

  • Anticipates emerging needs and proactively shapes multi year planning cycles to support organizational scalability and competitiveness.

  • Oversees the design and optimization of global processes, systems, and governance frameworks.

  • Ensures effective implementation and adoption of technology platforms and enterprise tools.

  • Establishes global KPIs, performance metrics, and accountability standards to drive efficiency and operational excellence.

  • Leads risk mitigation, compliance adherence, and effective internal controls across regions.

  • Leads, develops, and mentors senior leaders and cross functional teams across global locations.

  • Builds a robust talent pipeline and succession strategy that ensures continuity of leadership.

  • Creates and sustains an inclusive, high performance culture emphasizing innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.

  • Partners with executive leaders across HR, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Corporate Strategy to ensure alignment of goals and resources.

  • Shapes and influences enterprise level decisions in senior leadership forums.

  • Develops strong internal and external partnerships to enhance organizational capabilities.

  • Leads a data driven approach to evaluate program effectiveness, resource allocation, and ROI.

  • Leverages insights, analytics, and forecasting models to inform strategy and decision making.

  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives based on data trends and stakeholder feedback.

  • Maintains awareness of global industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging best practices.

  • Represents the organization in industry forums, strategic partnerships, and external events.

  • Strengthens and protects the organization's reputation, employer brand, and market position.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Education Level - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree

Description - Bachelor's degree in business administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field. Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA, MPA, or related).

Years of experience required:

15+ years of progressive leadership experience, including 10+ years in senior executive roles managing global teams and enterprise level functions.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proven success in leading multi-country teams and driving strategic talent initiatives across diverse markets and business units in large, complex global organizations.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, influence, decision making, and executive communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformational change in fast moving or high growth environments.

  • Strong business acumen with deep understanding of operations, financial drivers, and corporate governance.

  • Extensive CRO, life sciences or pharmaceutical market expertise required to enterprise competitiveness and respond to business demand..

  • Deep understanding of labor laws impacting hiring decisions across APAC, including post-termination restraints, contracts and executive compensation components.

  • Proven experience negotiating with candidates and companies on release from contractual restraints and structuring competitive executive packages.

  • Extensive global leadership experience with multicultural teams preferred.

Summary

The Executive Director provides strategic, enterprise wide leadership and sets the long term vision for the function. This role is responsible for driving organizational excellence, leading complex global initiatives, and ensuring alignment between corporate priorities and functional execution. The Executive Director serves as a key advisor to C-suit senior executives, influences enterprise strategy, and oversees operational performance across multiple regions and business units. With a focus on innovation, scalability, and sustainable growth, this role ensures that systems, processes, talent, and culture enable the organization to achieve its strategic goals. The role must also navigate rapid changes and deliver on highly time-sensitive projects, requiring agility and resilience in dynamic environments. For APAC, this includes leading regional TA strategy across Japan and China, ensuring successful RPO adoption, and managing complex market dynamics.
