eTrading Oversight Manager, VP

Role Overview

This key role involves contributing to the delivery and validation of assessments of compliance with regulatory requirements for algorithmic and electronic trading. You will provide expertise, insightful analysis, and risk opinions to the business and framework owners on the identification, assessment, and control of relevant risks. The role ensures the effectiveness of risk management practices and adherence to operational and regulatory standards across global trading activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse the risk profile of algorithmic and electronic trading and provide strategic guidance to the business on the adequacy of risk identification and mitigation strategies
• Undertake reviews of material risks and adherence to operational risk standards to inform risk management practices
• Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of the second line of defence (2LOD) approach for overseeing risks associated with algorithmic and electronic trading activities
• Provide oversight of material change processes and ensure algorithmic trading controls and processes operate effectively
• Deliver expert risk opinions to business stakeholders and framework owners on emerging risks, controls, and mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with multiple business areas to resolve complex stakeholder, process, and technology issues

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of operational risks relevant to algorithmic and electronic trading, including technology processes
• Demonstrable experience delivering oversight and challenge to first line of defence management of algorithmic trading risks
• Experience in financial services with proven application of controls to manage trading-related risk in complex organisations
• Knowledge of the regulatory environment relevant to algorithmic trading, including framework design and deployment
• Strong track record of delivery across multiple business areas, involving complex stakeholder, process, and technology challenges
• Excellent communication, collaboration, organisational, and influencing skills to resolve conflicts and complex problems
