ETL Testing

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand business and technical requirements for data warehouse and ETL projects.
• Design, develop, and execute ETL test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
• Validate source-to-target data mappings and transformations.
• Perform data validation, data reconciliation, and regression testing.
• Write complex SQL queries to validate data loads and transformations.
• Identify, log, and track data defects using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or HP ALM.
• Work closely with ETL developers, data analysts, and business teams to ensure data accuracy.
• Automate data testing tasks where feasible using ETL test automation frameworks.
• Document all test results and provide regular status updates.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in ETL testing and data warehouse validation.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with databases like Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, or Snowflake.
• Experience testing ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, DataStage, SSIS, etc.
• Understanding of ETL workflows, data transformation rules, and data pipelines.
• Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, OBIEE) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with big data testing (Hive, Spark, Hadoop).
• Knowledge of automation tools for data testing such as QuerySurge, Apache Nifi, or Selenium with SQL scripts.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, GCP Dataflow) is an advantage.
