Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented
Product Development Estimation Engineer to handle product costing, support OEM proposals, and coordinate new product development activities. The role involves preparing process-based cost estimations, reviewing engineering drawings, managing SAP master data, and ensuring smooth product introduction into production.
This opportunity is open to both freshers and experienced candidates with strong technical fundamentals in sheet metal manufacturing and engineering drawings.
Roles Responsibilities
- Prepare costing for standard and non-standard sheet metal products using process-based and parametric costing sheets.
- Support Sales with accurate estimations for custom orders and technical proposals for OEM customers (TKE, OTIS, etc.).
- Study new products, coordinate prototype development, and manage vendor interactions for samples and BOI components.
- Conduct sample inspections, validate drawings/BOM, and support pilot batch execution with Production and Quality teams.
- Create SAP item codes, BOMs, and maintain master data for new and existing products.
- Drive process improvements, waste reduction, and support industrial engineering activities.
- Prepare and maintain SOPs, technical documents, and support smooth introduction of new products into production.
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal processes (laser cutting, bending, welding, fabrication, finishing).
- Understanding of process-based costing and BOM structures.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting) for reviewing and interpreting technical drawings.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and OEM specifications.
- Basic to working knowledge of SAP (Item Codes, BOM, Master Data Management) .
- Good coordination skills with Design, Purchase, Quality, Production, and Vendors.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Eligibility Criteria
- Diploma or B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 0-1 years of relevant experience
