Estimating Engineer (Instrumentation & Control)

Process Instrumentation Design & Integration

• Flow Measurement: Design and implement systems using Venturi Tubes, Magnetic Flowmeters, Parshall Flumes, Propeller Meters, and Mass Flow technologies.
• Pressure Measurement: Experience with Gauge, Differential, Hydrostatic pressure measurement systems.
• Level Measurement: Work with Ultrasonic, Radar, Submersible level sensors, and Float Switches.
• Temperature Measurement: Implement RTD, Thermocouple, Thermowells for temperature measurement.

Analytical Instrumentation Design & Calibration

• Experience with pH, Chlorine Residual, Turbidity, Streaming Current, Particle Counters, Dissolved Oxygen, ORP, and BOD instrumentation.
• Perform termination, startup, and calibration of instrumentation systems.

PLC and HMI Systems

• PLC Hardware Expertise: Hands-on knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Modicon, GE, Siemens, and Bedrock PLC hardware.
• Basic PLC Programming: Ability to create or modify basic PLC programs for system integration.
• HMI Programming: Knowledge of Wonderware, VTScada, Ignition, RSView/FactoryTalk, GE iFIX for Human-Machine Interface (HMI) programming.

Control Panel Design

• Design and build PLC Panels, RTUs, Local Control Panels, Motor Control Panels, Variable Frequency Drives, and Motor Control Centers.
• Ensure designs meet required control panel standards.

Communications & Networking Knowledge

• Fiber Optic Cabling: Design and implement fiber optic cabling and topologies for control systems.
• Radio Systems: Experience with licensed, unlicensed, and cellular radio systems.
• Ethernet Networking: Knowledge of VLANs, segmentation, routing, and firewalls for secure and efficient network communication.
• Cloud Storage and Machine Learning: Familiarity with cloud storage, edge devices, and machine learning technologies.
• Cybersecurity: Experience with cybersecurity technologies in control systems to safeguard systems and data.

Computer Hardware & Software

• Design and maintain workstations, servers, and network racks.
• Experience with virtualization technologies and terminal services.
• Familiar with operating system licensing, CALs, and managing databases.

Security Access & Surveillance Systems

• Design and integrate CCTV cameras, door access systems, central monitoring systems, and DVRs for system security.

General Office Skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Skilled in using drawing packages like Visio for creating system schematics and layouts.
• Experienced with PDF tools like Adobe for document management and editing.
• Comfortable working with design and application engineers, as well as administrative staff.
• Ability to engage vendor technical support for troubleshooting or product inquiries.
• A keen desire to learn new skills, technologies, and products, and apply them to ongoing projects.

• Instrumentation Knowledge: Extensive experience in the design, development, and calibration of both process and analytical instrumentation.
• PLC and HMI Systems: Strong background in PLC hardware and programming, as well as HMI/SCADA software programming.
• Control Panel Design: Expertise in designing and building control panels and systems for industrial applications.
• Networking & Cybersecurity: Comprehensive understanding of networking technologies and cybersecurity protocols for industrial control systems.
• Computer Systems: Proficiency in managing workstations, servers, and databases in a control systems environment.
• Security Systems: Experience with security access and surveillance systems for industrial environments.
• Office Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, Adobe, and other office software.
