About the Role
We are looking to hire a Research Analyst Sell Side to strengthen our equity research function. The role involves deep fundamental research, financial modelling, sector tracking, and publishing actionable investment insights for internal stakeholders and clients. The candidate will work closely with the Institutional / Wealth distribution teams and contribute to idea generation, stock recommendations, and market intelligence.
This role is ideal for professionals with strong analytical skills, hands-on equity research experience, and exposure to Indian capital markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental equity research on listed Indian companies across assigned sectors.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models (3-statement models, DCF, relative valuation, scenario analysis)
- Prepare initiation reports, coverage updates, earnings previews/reviews, and thematic notes.
- Track sector trends, macroeconomic indicators, corporate actions, and regulatory developments.
- Generate Buy / Sell / Hold recommendations with clear investment rationale and risk assessment.
- Participate in management interactions, analyst calls, concalls, and investor presentations.
- Support sales / relationship teams with investment notes, stock pitches, and client queries.
- Ensure timely updates on earnings, news flow, and material events impacting covered stocks.
- Maintain high standards of research quality, compliance, and documentation as per SEBI regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align research outputs with business and client needs.
Qualifications
- Education: MBA (Finance) / CA / CFA (preferred). Engineering + MBA (Finance) combinations are welcome.
- Experience: 5+ years in Buy Side Equity Research
Skills Required
Domain Skills
- Strong understanding of Equity Markets, Sell-Side Research, and Capital Markets
- Experience in fundamental analysis, valuation techniques, and sector research
- Knowledge of Indian listed companies, financial statements, and regulatory framework
- Exposure to Institutional / Wealth / PMS / Broking research environment preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience using Bloomberg / Capital IQ / Refinitiv / Screener / Moneycontrol (any or multiple)
- Ability to interpret financial statements, annual reports, and concall transcripts
- Strong data analysis and presentation skills
Managerial Skills
- Ability to manage multiple research deliverables with strict timelines
- Clear written and verbal communication for reports and client interactions
- High ownership, attention to detail, and accountability for research output
- Capability to work independently while collaborating with sales and leadership teams
