4 to 5 years of IT experience in Hyperion Essbase Development, Maintenance and Support.
Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in the Hyperion Essbase environment.
Strong knowledge in Essbase ASO cube and it s properties.
Strong Technical and Functional knowledge on SQL, PL/SQL, enhancing SQL query performance.
Good knowledge on automation of building dimensions and data loads, using Essbase MAXLs and Unix shell scripting.
Good experience in analyzing, designing, updating, testing and migrating Essbase Cubes in different environments and also proficient in performance tuning and optimization of Essbase applications.
Ability to analyse and resolve the end user related issues with Essbase/Smart View etc.
Ability to analyse and resolve Essbase and SQL batch related issues.
Good to have:
Ability to meet deadlines and handle pressure in coordinating multiple tasks in a work/project environment. Outstanding team player with an aptitude to learn. Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, customer interaction and problem solving skills in technology arena.
Technologies: Hyperion Essbase (ASO BSO), Any RDBMS/ DB2 SQL, Unix shell scripting
Secondary skills (good to have): Hyperion Data Relationship Management (DRM), OBIEE/Tableau
Day-to-Day activities:
1.Essbase Related tickets (User access, Essbase filter, Groups, Performance issues)
2.Troubleshooting Essbase add-in/Smartview issues
3.Autosys jobs supervision and take care of job failures related to Essbase or on database(RDBMS/DB2) side
4.Preparing QA environments by backing up production metadata and Data
5.Resolves and Update Hyperion Financial Reports/Interactive Reports/OBIEE reports
6.Managing and assigning security classes to Groups using Hyperion Shared Services
7.Handling other production issues like server hanging, server outage and data (reconciliation) issues
8.Writing MDX formulas in Essbase
9.Writing Unix shell scripts for automation
10.Interact with users for follow up or to update and understand the issue
11.Maintaining status report of the project
12. Co-ordinating with relevant network/cloud/database teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
13. Must be ready to be available for on-call support during off-hours/holidays and weekends as per team ROTA.
14. Must be ready to support US hours when US resource is on vacation, as per ROTA.
