About the Role
The Enterprise Migration Architect plays a critical role in designing and executing large-scale cloud migration strategies across an organization's IT landscape. This role requires a combination of strategic vision, deep technical expertise, and strong business alignment to ensure successful migration of infrastructure, applications, and data to cloud platformsprimarily AWS.
Responsibilities
- Apply enterprise architectural best practices across infrastructure, applications, data, and security to solve complex migration challenges.
- Define cloud migration roadmaps and target-state architectures, considering interactions between infrastructure, operations, and development teams.
- Translate business and industry drivers (ROI, TCO, cost-benefit analysis) into practical migration strategies.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, compliance, and operational excellence requirements during migration programs.
- Architect and lead enterprise-scale migration programs across multiple industries and business domains.
- Build strong relationships with customer decision-makers, enabling them to become cloud adoption advocates.
- Ensure successful migration of infrastructure, applications, software, and services to AWS.
- Lead migration initiatives including on-premises to cloud, cloud-to-cloud, and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Design repeatable migration architectures, frameworks, and playbooks to enable faster, predictable, and low-risk cloud migrations.
- Work closely with customers to develop a deep understanding of their current technology landscape and migration constraints.
- Define and oversee migration assessment strategies using workshops, questionnaires, and immersion sessions.
- Analyze existing applications and platform dependencies to ensure migration approaches align with enterprise technology standards.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to design end-to-end cloud architectures spanning SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
- Collaborate with other enterprise and solution architects to ensure consistency in architecture governance, standards, and practices.
- Provide architectural oversight to ensure migration quality, risk mitigation, and compliance adherence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements across geographies and industries.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman.
- Proven success working with clients, senior stakeholders, and executive leadership.
- Experience in consulting or professional services environments, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong expertise in designing scalable, secure, and reliable cloud architectures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder-influencing capabilities.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), migration tooling, DevOps practices, and microservices architectures.
- Relevant certifications such as TOGAF or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.
