Enterprise Architect - Core Banking Transformation

Key Responsibilities

Define and own the enterprise and target-state architecture for core banking modernization (cloud, data, integrations, security).
Lead core banking platform assessment and migration strategy, including FIS, Fiserv, Jack Henry, or equivalent systems.
Design integration architecture across core banking, digital banking, payments, CRM, AML/KYC, lending, and third-party fintech systems.
Partner with business, product, and operations teams to translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical architectures.
Ensure alignment with US banking regulations (FFIEC, SOX, PCI-DSS, GLBA, data privacy).
Guide cloud adoption and hybrid architectures while ensuring resiliency, security, and high availability.
Review and govern solution designs, ensuring adherence to architecture standards and best practices.
Support vendor evaluation, RFPs, and implementation planning for core and adjacent banking systems.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology strategy, risk, and modernization roadmap.

Experience & Qualifications

12-18+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years in an Enterprise or Lead Architect role.
Direct experience in core banking platforms (FIS, Fiserv, etc.) is mandatory.
Prior experience supporting US banks or credit unions (community or regional preferred).
Experience in product engineering or platform-led transformation is a strong plus.
TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification is desirable.
Optional Add-On (Nice to Have)
Experience leading modernization in small or mid-sized community banks.
Exposure to core banking carve-outs, mergers, or platform consolidations.
