We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Engineering Manager - Quality Assurance - The ideal candidate will be the primary guardian of the YouTrip's reliability, overseeing domain-specific QA, organization-wide regression, and the evolution of our central automation frameworks.

Your mission is to move the organization from testing as a phase to quality as a continuous platform service, ensuring that our high-frequency releases. Below are the requirements for the role:

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Platform Vision

  • Define the Quality Roadmap: Architect the long-term vision for automated and manual testing across mobile (iOS/Android), Web, and Backend APIs
  • Centralized Frameworks: Lead the SDET team in building and maintaining Force Multiplier tools, standardized automation frameworks (Appium, Selenium, Postman/RestAssured) that all squads leverage
  • Test Pyramid Governance: Audit and optimize the test pyramid across all domains, ensuring the right balance of Unit, Integration, and E2E tests to maximize speed and reliability
2. Engineering & Delivery Excellence

  • Regression Management: Own the Global Regression Suite. Ensure that multi-market flows are validated with 100% confidence before every release
  • CI/CD Integration: Partner with DevOps and Engineers to implement robust Deployment Gates, ensuring automated tests are a non-negotiable part of the delivery pipeline
  • Technical Breadth: Drive advanced testing methodologies, including Contract Testing (Pact), Idempotency Validation, and Performance/Load testing for our core payment gateways
3. Team Management & Mentorship

  • Lead a Hybrid Org: Manage and grow a diverse team of manual QA Engineers and SDETs, fostering a culture of technical curiosity and extreme ownership.
  • Hiring & Standards: Define the bar for QA/SDET talent. Lead interviewing and onboarding to ensure we scale with high-caliber engineers
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Act as the Voice of Quality in leadership meetings, effectively balancing the need for rapid feature delivery with the necessity of platform stability
4. Domain-Specific Quality

  • Ledger & Risk: Ensure testing strategies specifically account for financial risks, including transaction atomicity, consistency, and payment flows
  • Partner Integrations: Oversee the UAT and integration testing for critical partners, ensuring external dependencies are mocked effectively in test environments

Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years in Software Quality Assurance, with at least 2+ years in a leadership/management role overseeing both manual and automated engineering teams
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong background in Java, JavaScript, or Python for test automation
  • Hands-on expertise with Appium, Selenium, and API testing (Postman/RestAssured)
  • Deep understanding of Microservices architecture and Event-driven systems (Kafka).
    Platform Mindset: Proven track record of building or scaling central automation frameworks used by multiple teams
  • FinTech Expertise: Prior experience in Payments, Banking, or highly regulated environments is strongly preferred
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills; ability to translate complex technical risks into business impact for stakeholders
