About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a high-performing

scrum team within the OneXtel Engineering organization. You'll be responsible for building and

scaling our omni-channel messaging platformcovering SMS, Email, Voice, and Social

engineered to handle billions of transactions daily.

You'll bring deep technical expertise, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to drive

excellence in engineering practices, delivery, and team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow a scrum team delivering highly scalable, reliable, and high-performance

messaging systems.

Own the full product development lifecycle for your teamfrom design to deployment to support.

Work closely with business and product teams to align delivery with business goals and customer

needs.

Define and measure engineering quality metrics, ensuring the team meets standards for

performance, scalability, and code quality.

Champion engineering best practices: agile delivery, TDD, CI/CD, and strong documentation.

Contribute to solution and subsystem architecture decisions, ensuring modularity, reuse, and

maintainability.

Conduct design and code reviews, guiding the team toward robust, clean, and efficient solutions.

Manage team performance, career growth, and hiringbuilding a motivated, high-caliber

engineering group.

Drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction through on-time delivery within cost and

quality expectations.

Lead POCs, benchmarking, and technical evaluations to support innovation and continuous

improvement.

Own production issues and drive quick, effective resolutions.

Ensure engineering processesversion control, release management, QAare followed

rigorously.

Drive strategic initiatives like productivity, automation, and process optimization.3

Skills Set:

1015 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a managerial or

team leadership role.

Deep, hands-on experience in designing and delivering scalable systems in Java/Spring.

Solid understanding of message-oriented middleware and PostgreSQL.

Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

Knowledge of functional programming and Erlang is a plus.

Deep understanding of:

o Internet protocols (from application to physical layer)

o Virtual machine architecture

o REST API design

o Single-page applications

o Socket-level programming, TCP/IP protocol

Strong exposure to Agile delivery, TDD, CI/CD, QA lifecycle, JIRA, and GitHub.
