Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with software development in Java, Kotlin, Swift, or Objective-C.
  • Experience in leading engineering teams and driving user acquisition, onboarding, or metrics.
  • Experience with mobile attribution providers (e.g., AppsFlyer, Adjust, Kochava) and implementing event-tracking schemas.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in leading and setting the technical direction for growth stacks and marketing technology.
  • Experience building growth engines for products from scratch or re-architecting legacy onboarding flows, and with large-scale mobile applications and complex architectures within a social media or creator-focused ecosystem.
  • Understanding of A/B testing methodologies, feature flagging, and experimentation platforms at scale.
  • Understanding of data pipelines, SQL, and analytics integration to ensure data integrity between mobile clients and backend systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Android and iOS engineers specializing in product growth, attribution modeling, high-velocity experimentation. Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making, rapid iteration, and technical excellence in growth engineering.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support career development for engineers navigating the intersection of product and infra.
  • Drive the technical goal and strategy for YouTube Create growth stack, including onboarding flows, referral systems, and deep-linking infrastructure.
  • Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle for attribution-related features, ensuring seamless integration with external marketing partners and internal data warehouses.
  • Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Marketing teams to define growth hypotheses and translate them into scalable technical solutions and work with YouTube Shorts and Ecosystem teams to align on cross-platform attribution and ensure YouTube Create remains a seamless entry point for new creators.
