ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an Engineering Manager who can sit directly under the Head of Platform & Products, own end-to-end delivery of platform modules, manage a small engineering team, and bring strong architectural depth to the role.
This is not a client delivery role and not a pure IC role. You will be building something Mastech owns. You manage people, make technical decisions, and ship — all three.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead a small team of engineers — set technical direction, review work, mentor, and ensure delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery of AI platform modules — from design through to production
- Architect and build agentic AI systems — multi-agent workflows, analyst bots, and intelligent document processing
- Design the data and semantic layer — integrating Snowflake, Dremio, or Databricks for self-service analytics
- Own cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP — Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD, multi-tenant SaaS design
- Set engineering standards — code reviews, design documentation, LLM evaluation, and observability practices
- Work closely with the Head of Platform on roadmap and milestone planning
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 10–14 years of overall experience with at least 3 years in a lead or management role
- Has managed engineers and owned delivery — not just contributed as an IC
- Hands-on in agentic AI — experience with Lang graph, Agno, or DsPy in production
- Strong in Python — Fast API or Flask
- Deep in one cloud — AWS or GCP, not surface-level across all three
- Solid on Kubernetes, Docker, and multi-tenant SaaS architecture
- Worked on a data or AI product — analytics platforms, SaaS tools, or decision intelligence products
- Familiar with LLM evaluation and observability — Lang fuse, Deep Eval, or Open Telemetry
- Exposure to semantic layers or data platforms — Snowflake, Dremio, or Databricks
NON-NEGOTIABLES
- Product engineering background — you have built something that was owned and sold, not just delivered to a client
- Still technically hands-on — you design, review code, and make stack decisions yourself
- Managed a team and been accountable for delivery timelines
- Single-cloud depth — AWS or GCP certification is a strong advantage
GOOD TO HAVE
- React and frontend SDK development
- Vector databases and RAG pipelines
- Temporal for long-running workflows
- Java as a secondary language
- Background in a data, analytics, or AI SaaS product company — not purely IT services or consulting delivery
