Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead multiple Scrum teams across the entire software development life cycle. This role is ideal for an experienced software manager with a high sense of ownership and a passion for continuous improvement. You will be responsible for people management, technical project management, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software. This position is based in Bangalore on a hybrid model.

Key Responsibilities

  • People & Team Management: Lead and coach multiple teams of software and quality engineers, providing input for career development and conducting performance evaluations. You will mentor your teams in software development, test planning, and execution.
  • Technical & Project Management: Take on a hands-on technical project management role, overseeing the critical path and quality of projects. You will be responsible for planning and implementing new developments and maintenance projects, as well as making key technical decisions.
  • Process & Strategy: Help define development priorities, review specifications, and create and review user stories. You will also create, implement, and guard optimized processes, policies, and procedures to ensure efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Manage stakeholder expectations by taking ownership of the scope of work, release schedules, and product quality. You will coordinate interaction between your teams and other internal groups in a global environment.
  • Software Development: Define specific software engineering tasks and follow up on their execution. You will also be responsible for reporting on the progress of software development and testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 16 years of software development experience, with at least 4+ years in a management role, leading software engineering teams. You should have hands-on development experience with cloud, web, and desktop applications.
  • Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering relevant to Software Engineering or an equivalent field.
  • Skills:
  • Leadership: Proven experience in people management and collaboration across global teams.
  • Technical Mindset: Strong technical understanding with a great attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Adaptability: A flexible and agile learner who is results-oriented and has strong self-management skills.
  • Ownership: A very good sense of ownership, with the ability to handle complicated problems calmly.
  • Certifications: Cloud / AWS Certifications are a plus.
  • Desired: A background or knowledge of the graphical market, especially Esko products, is an asset.
