About the Role:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who can lead a team of strong engineers and drive technical excellence, product velocity, and a culture of ownership. This role needs someone who is technically hands-on, passionate about building high-quality systems, and experienced in growing senior engineers into future leaders.

What You'll Own:

Team Leadership & People Growth

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of backend, frontend & full-stack engineers.
  • Support career growth for your team through structured feedback, development plans, and technical guidance
  • Build a culture of high ownership & engineering rigor

Technical

Technical Direction

  • Set and drive the technical roadmap in partnership with Product & Design
  • Make strong architectural decisions that balance speed with long-term scalability
  • Dive deep into code when needed debugging, reviewing critical paths, and unblocking engineers
  • Maintain high engineering standards for system design, performance, observability, and reliability

Execution Excellence

  • Deliver high-quality features on time across multiple parallel work-streams
  • Establish strong engineering processes code reviews, incident postmortems, testing culture, release pipelines, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers to shape problem statements and solution approaches
  • Ensure engineering output directly contributes to business outcomes and customer experience

What We're Looking For

  • 8-10 years of total experience in software engineering
  • 23+ years managing teams of 8+ engineers, with proven success leading senior talent
  • Strong technical depth in one or more: distributed systems, backend architectures, API design
  • Experience shipping products at scale in fast-paced product/tech organisations (fintech a plus)
  • Ability to influence architecture and drive high-quality systems end to end
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders
  • A builder's mindset pragmatic, data-driven, and comfortable navigating ambiguity
