Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in developing and maintaining distributed systems.
- Experience in projects with machine learning.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to guide engineering teams in changing environments.

Responsibilities
- Drive innovation at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and data engineering through exploration.
- Shape and enhance the AI for SQL roadmap for impact.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on developing AI use cases for the Core data team.
- Attract and develop talent within the team. Collaborate with partner teams and stakeholders to gain insights into their needs
- Advise the Core Data AI steering committees on wins, learning, and opportunities within the AI for SQL space. Research and learn about AI innovations happening within and outside Google.
