About the Role
As a DevOps Engineering Manager (EM) at Baazi Games, you will lead and scale a high-performing DevOps team responsible for building, operating, and evolving our AWS-first cloud and data infrastructure. This role combines strong technical depth, people leadership, and ownership of reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency across production systems powering high-traffic gaming and data platforms.
You will work closely with Data Engineering, Backend, Security, and Product teams to ensure our infrastructure enables fast, reliable, and secure delivery at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps / SRE engineers, driving high standards of execution and ownership
- Own the AWS infrastructure strategy across compute, networking, storage, and data platforms
- Oversee design and operation of CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and deployment automation
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and SLAs for production systems
- Partner closely with Data Engineering teams to support scalable data pipelines, lakehouse platforms, and analytics workloads
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption and best practices using Terraform / CloudFormation
- Establish and improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident management practices
- Lead production incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-mortems
- Drive cost optimization, performance tuning, and capacity planning across AWS environments
- Collaborate with Security teams to enforce cloud security, IAM, network policies, and compliance standards
- Participate in architecture reviews and influence long-term platform and reliability decisions
Required Skills & Experience
- 710 years of experience in DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering, with at least 23 years in a people or technical leadership role
- Strong, hands-on expertise with AWS (mandatory)
- Deep experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and containerized production systems
- Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines at scale
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and cloud security (VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, Auto Scaling)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- Ability to balance hands-on technical involvement with people management and delivery ownership
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering and business teams

- Experience supporting data platforms (Glue, EMR, Spark, Airflow, Redshift, Iceberg/Hudi)
- Exposure to DevSecOps practices and compliance-driven environments
- Experience in high-scale consumer internet, gaming, or fintech platforms
- Prior experience managing on-call rotations and SRE practices
