You will own a business-critical engineering charter with direct revenue impact.

Job Description

Lead the demand-side engineering charter, owning customer-facing systems across discovery, search, recommendations, checkout, payments, and post-booking experiences.
Build and scale high-performance, consumer-grade platforms that drive acquisition, retention, and engagement across a global user base.
Design and evolve scalable product architectures powering seamless and reliable customer journeys at scale.
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Growth teams to translate user needs into impactful, measurable experiences.
Drive technical excellence, team leadership, and engineering culture while mentoring engineers and raising the bar for execution and craft.

The Successful Applicant

8-12 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2+ years in a technical leadership role managing engineering teams.
Deep backend system design and architecture expertise, with strong experience building scalable, high-performance distributed systems and micro-services.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes.
Proven ability to design, build, and operate reliable backend systems focused on scalability, performance, and resilience at consumer internet scale.
Strong product and business intuition, with the ability to translate customer needs and growth goals into effective engineering execution and technical decisions.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a passion for mentoring engineers and building high-performing, inclusive teams.
Prior experience in consumer-tech or marketplace-driven products is highly desirable, especially in fast-paced, high-scale user-facing environments.
