We operate as cross-functional teams that work closely with Product, Data, and Business functions to deliver reliable, high-performance systems at scale. About the Role

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of high-impact financial products in the BFSI domain for retail consumers. You'll drive engineering excellence, build high-performing teams, and ensure our systems are scalable, reliable, and customer-first. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving ambiguous problems, scaling 0 → 1 products, and leading diverse, cross-functional teams.

  • Design scalable and reliable systems to power financial product experiences.
  • Solve complex engineering challenges with strong customer impact.
  • Align with Product, Design, and Business on execution.

Team Building & Delivery

  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team.
  • Own end-to-end product delivery with high quality and speed.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and customer-first thinking.
  • Ensure stable delivery processes as products scale.

Technical Leadership

  • Be hands-on when needed — especially in critical design or incidents.
  • Maintain a high bar for code and architecture.
  • Influence org-wide technical standards.

People Leadership

  • Set clear goals and roadmaps for your team.
  • Provide mentorship and feedback to engineers.
  • Hire and grow top talent with strong technical and cultural fit.

Must Haves

Experience

  • 12+ years of overall software engineering experience with 3+ years in a senior engineering management role.
  • Proven experience managing engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to set vision, drive execution, and build customer-facing systems in fast-paced environments.

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on technical background, particularly in backend systems at scale.
  • Experience with microservice architecture, distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases etc.
  • Expertise in API design and developing intuitive, reliable customer flows.
  • Depth and breadth in system design – from threads and memory models to control flows and data architecture.

Soft Skills

  • Strong sense of ownership, with a track record of delivering high-quality products.
  • Ability to mentor engineers & managers, delegate effectively, and lead by example.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across product, design, and leadership.
