The Adobe Document Cloud team is looking for a highly motivated engineering leader and technical thinker to join & lead a high caliber, fast paced team working on Acrobat on the Web. The engineering leader is expected to have deep experience of building responsive, low latency, high performance web applications, distributed systems and managing highly skilled teams.
What you will do:
- Managing a highly skilled team of engineers with a strong focus on user experience and workflows.
- Collaborate with product management, architects and other engineering teams in Document Cloud and rest of Adobe to create the technical vision, and road map for the team.
- Partnering with Product Management and Design to lead feature execution across engineering disciplines to deliver great experiences.
- Lead the design, development and testing of fluid, responsive, secure, large scale web applications.
- Define and drive the best software development/engineering and operational practices for the team.
- Explore new open-source technologies, adopt and contribute back to open-source.
- Mentoring people, helping them grow, and develop their careers.
- Providing oversight, accountability, and leadership for technical decisions with a bias for action.
- Be well versed in emerging industry technologies and trends and communicate that knowledge to the team and use it to influence product direction.
Must have skills:
- B. Tech./B.S/B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree
- Min. 8+ years of software engineering experience building front-end & server/web service applications with experience in managing people and engineering projects.
- Experience in design and development of web applications/distributed systems
- Strong hands-on experience in front-end technologies and coding skills in HTML, JS, React etc.
- Good to have experience on Java, Python or any other server-side programming languages.
- Has breadth of knowledge across the stack of web technologies Cloud Computing, HTML/JS, CDN, Dev tools, React, Angular, PWA, GraphQL, REST, Micro-services, Redis Cache, messaging systems, data stores such as HBase, managed SQL DB, etc.
- Goes above and beyond to create high-quality, stable products that customers enjoy using
- Brings people together across teams to successfully collaborate on innovative solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred skills:
- Min 2+ years as an Engineering Manager or an Architect
- Experience with technical operations and CI/CD
- Experience with git, Command line tools
- Experience with monitoring systems like Splunk, NewRelic, DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus etc.
