Role Summary
This position plans and develops security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure. Works with management and other personnel to identify best practices as a senior systems engineer covering windows engineering along with the security aspects of on-premises Active Directory (AD) and AWS Managed AD. This position leads experienced technical staff on the technical aspects of Systems engineer who has expertise on Windows Engineering, AD/AWSAD architecture, Engineering, development, and operations.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage a team of System Engineers
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business and other IT teams across Delta.
- Understand technical/business requirements gathered from the business units.
- Coordinate and leading the Analysis, design, and documentation of platforms/systems to meet enterprise requirements.
- Install, customize, maintain, test, and troubleshoot operating systems and other systems software.
- Configure, install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot hardware systems.
- Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions, and to prevent recurring problems.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies for enterprise use to consistently drive down total cost of ownership.
- Experience in AWS workloads.
- Develop and drive an Active Directory strategy to modernize and secure on-premises AD and AWSAD platforms.
- Designing a directory services infrastructure that meets the organization's needs and implementing it
- Designing and implementing security policies that conform to industry best practices and align with organizational risk management objectives
- Create and maintain system documentation for AD and AWSAD technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
- Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend, and plan implementation of new and/or improved information security with a focus on Active Directory.
- Perform technical reviews comparing enterprise standard platform components with that of their leading industry competitors.
- Ensure platforms/systems conform to established enterprise/industry standards (systems management, security, operating systems, etc.) and reference models.
- Monitor, manage, and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved.
- Coordinate activities with internal/external technology owners/service providers.
- Plan and implement life cycle management of software and hardware.
- Keep abreast of industry and technology trends.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in an IT field, in addition to 15 years applicable experience in the design/administration/support of one or more platforms; or 17+ years of experience in Windows Server design and implementation of large enterprise environments
- Virtualization (VMware / Nutanix) and Cloud Management experience required
- Microsoft Active Directory experience required.
- AWS Certified Professional preferred.
- Experience with AD monitoring and security tools like Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC)
- Experience with AWS Managed Active Directory service
- Fluency with one or more scripting/coding languages such as PowerShell, Python
- Understanding of the shared responsibility model in AWS
- Proven record of accomplishments in major enterprise level projects
- Experience in design of complex distributed systems environments
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
- Ability to clearly communicate and present to various levels of the organization
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Independent and self-motivated and very thorough worker
- Experience in Team Leadership: Managed, mentored, coached and developed teams, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment
- Experience in Resource Allocation, Capacity Planning & Resource utilization
