We are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead who can take ownership of our technology stack, guide engineering teams, drive architectural decisions, and help scale our platform for the future.
Role Overview:
This is a leadership role that combines technical expertise, architectural ownership, team management, and strategic thinking. You will be responsible for designing scalable systems, mentoring developers, improving engineering processes, leveraging AI-assisted development, and ensuring the successful delivery of business-critical initiatives.
This role is approximately:

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
• Own the overall architecture and technical direction of the platform.
• Design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems.
• Lead architectural discussions and technology decisions.
• Define engineering standards, coding practices, and system design guidelines.
• Review application architecture, database design, API contracts, and infrastructure decisions.
• Identify and address technical debt proactively.
Backend & Platform Development:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
• Build and optimize microservices and distributed systems.
• Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and internal platform services.
• Ensure system reliability, availability, and scalability.
• Drive application performance optimization and troubleshooting.
SaaS Platform Ownership:
• Build and scale multi-tenant SaaS applications serving multiple businesses.
• Design solutions that support rapid onboarding, subscriptions, automation, integrations, and growth.
• Ensure platform stability, security, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Customer Success, and Leadership teams to prioritize engineering initiatives.
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
• Lead and mentor a team of developers across backend, frontend, and mobile applications.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance.
• Help developers improve their technical and problem-solving skills.
• Allocate work effectively and ensure timely delivery.
•Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
AI-Assisted Development & Engineering Productivity:
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices across the engineering team.
• Work alongside tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, and similar platforms.
• Establish best practices for leveraging AI in software development.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering velocity through automation and AI driven workflows.
Engineering Operations
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and roadmap discussions.
• Coordinate with Product Managers and stakeholders on priorities and timelines.
• Improve engineering workflows, release processes, and quality standards.
• Ensure effective documentation and knowledge sharing across teams.
Security & Reliability
• Implement best practices for authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Ensure secure coding practices across applications.
• Monitor application performance and reliability.
• Maintain high standards for testing, observability, and production readiness.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Technical Skills
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Extensive experience with NestJS and backend application development.
• Strong experience with Microservices Architecture.
• Deep understanding of MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Prisma ORM.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, WebSockets, and third-party integrations.
• Experience designing scalable SaaS platforms.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and high-volume transactional
applications.
System Design & Architecture
• Experience designing and scaling production-grade applications.
• Strong understanding of system design principles.
• Experience with caching strategies, asynchronous processing, and performance
optimization.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging systems is preferred.
Cloud & DevOps
• Experience with Azure Cloud.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Kubernetes experience is an added advantage.
Frontend & Full Stack Exposure
• Working knowledge of React.js and Next.js.
• Exposure to React Native is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across frontend and backend teams.
Leadership Skills
• Proven experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
