Concert Platform Overview

The Concert Platform delivers a comprehensive suite of software products, providing the foundational infrastructure for developing and deploying front-office business applications. It ensures standardization and adheres to best practices in scalability, resilience, concurrency control, and quality. Key use cases for Concert include critical functions such as order management, asset transfer, and portfolio management across the firm. Concert modularizes common functional logic, significantly accelerating development cycles and preventing redundant efforts across its diverse stakeholders. At the core of this ecosystem is the Concert Transaction Processor, a distributed event processor renowned for its robust transactional guarantees and automatic fine-grained concurrency control, capabilities that distinguish it from conventional workflow frameworks.

Concert is a rapidly expanding ecosystem, experiencing escalating demands and a critical need for scalability. Last year, the platform processed over half a billion events, facilitating approximately 10 trillion dollars in notional value traded, all while maintaining exceptionally low event handling latency. Its widespread adoption spans three divisions and over 30 trading and non-trading desks within Goldman Sachs, with an accelerating rate of integration projected for the coming years.
