We are currently looking for Engineer ll / Sr. CFD Engineer to join our Engineering Simulations function of Global Technical (GT) Group of Donaldson Inc. In this role, you will provide a positive impact to accelerate the engineering design and product development process by supporting and improving the current and next generation products of engine filtration systems and exhaust emission systems within Mobile Solutions vertical.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the global development and application teams across AMER, APAC and EMEA to drive and execute the advanced CFD analysis related to engine filtration systems and exhaust SCR systems.
  • Utilize the analytical skills and simulation tools (using Ansys) to provide the CFD solution and improve the concept design through analysis, interpreting the analysis goals towards performance and recommend the appropriate design alternatives at different stages of product development.
  • Develop and improve the simulation methods and processes to increase simulation fidelity. Comparing the simulations with experimental data (flow benches and analytical tools) and documenting the analysis workflow for further use.
  • Identify and build the parametric based simulation models to perform the sensitivity/trade-off evaluations within the offered design space. Use of optimization techniques and tools to develop the fundamental understanding of the design space and propose the optimum design that meets the performance targets.

Requirements

  • M.E./M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering/ Automotive Engineering/ Chemical Engineering or Related engineering Fields
  • 5+ years of working experience with tools such as Ansys Fluent, SpaceClaim & workbench.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Solid knowledge in the fundamentals of fluid mechanics and modelling of fluid flow, heat transfer and multiphase flows.
  • Proven practical experience in steady & unsteady fluid flow analysis, Thermal Analysis including conjugate heat transfer, Spray & particle modeling, and wall film modeling.
  • Working industry level experience in engine exhaust SCR mixing systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge on numerical solvers and working experience with CFD tools using Ansys.
  • Working Knowledge on the multi-objective optimization techniques is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand the engineering documents (technical specifications and drawings).
  • Proactive towards identifying the day-to-day work-related issues and proposing appropriate resolutions and solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to interface with peers and internal global teams in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to the critical inquiries / technical issues or complaints.
  • Ability to work at flexible hours.
