As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products that meet and exceed customer needs. Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, testing and debugging Security related software on Embedded platforms for Server domain.
- Developing software in C/C++ and RUST to run on ARM, RISCV platforms and ensure SW interactions between multiple components align with the requirement usecases, architecture workflows.
- Develop Software modules for proprietary or high-level operating systems (Linux/Windows).
- Follow defined methodologies, processes, and procedures for various software development activities.
- Triage, Debug and resolve issues and bugs in the software through strong problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate within and cross functional teams as required to ensure quality work products are delivered.
- Demonstrate Self-motivation and strong initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision or direction.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor's / master's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics or related field.
- 2 - 6 years of experience in Embedded software development.
- Strong Programming skills in C/ C++ (RUST is a big plus), with an emphasis on secure programming best practices.
- Strong understanding of Embedded hardware, Computer Architecture and Operating System concepts.
- Good understanding of OS concepts such as Multi tasking(process/thread), signals, timers, priorities, deadlocks, stacks, memory management, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills, agility and being a good team player who can function well with minimal supervision
- Excellent debugging skills and experience with software debugger/JTAG-enabled devices.
- Strong Communication skills and ability to work with engineers, stakeholders, partners & customers across cultures / geographical sites.
Preferred Requirements
- Good Knowledge and experience on RoT(Root of Trust), TPM, BMC and attestation.
- Server domain experience and Platform knowledge.
- Good expertise in product security for embedded devices.
- RUST programming knowledge/expertise is added advantage.
- Working knowledge of cryptography and secure protocols.
- Knowledge of Cellular protocols and modem development experience.
- ARM architecture and software development experience.
- Experience with on-chip simulators/emulators.
- Effective AI usage towards improved day-to-day productivity is valuable
