What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health
Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases, and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally facing business needs.
Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance, and enhancements of existing applications.
A SAP BODS (BusinessObjects Data Services) Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex data integration and migration solutions, working on various data conversions for an SAP implementation across pharmaceutical, medical, and nuclear segments. The position involves leading projects, optimizing ETL processes, ensuring data quality, and mentoring junior developers.
The position will also be responsible for:
SAP Data Conversion Expertise: Proven experience in executing data conversions for SAP implementations, including ECC and S/4HANA environments.
ETL Design & Development: Design, develop, and implement complex ETL processes using SAP BODS to migrate and integrate data from diverse sources into SAP S/4HANA, data warehouses, and cloud platforms.
Data Migration Leadership: Lead end-to-end data migration projects for SAP implementations and upgrades, establishing frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
Data Quality & Profiling: Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation using SAP Information Steward and other tools to ensure high data accuracy and integrity.
Performance Optimization: Optimize and tune SAP BODS jobs and dataflows for enhanced performance, scalability, and reliability.
Real-Time Data Integration: Develop real-time data replication solutions using SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) and other tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with data architects, SAP functional consultants, and business analysts to align technical solutions with business needs.
Requirements Analysis & Documentation: Gather and analyze data requirements, translating them into technical specifications, data mapping documents, and transformation logic.
Strategic Planning & Execution: Define and execute processes to meet project goals, coordinating with stakeholders and leadership teams.
Legacy Data Conversion: Responsible for converting legacy data from multiple source systems into SAP environments.
Stakeholder Engagement: Influence and engage key stakeholders and business partners to drive data initiatives and ensure alignment.
Technical Proficiencies:
ETL & Data Tools: SAP BODS (Data Services), SAP Information Steward, Informatica (bonus), Collibra, DataBricks, BigQuery
SAP Ecosystem: SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, LTMC
Database Technologies: SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL
Cloud & Infrastructure: GCP VM instance deployment and support (preferred)
Methodologies: Agile & Waterfall
Team Leadership: Mentor and lead technical teams, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
6+ years of experience with SAP implementations and ABAP knowledge in respective business processes like Master data, OTC, PRI, SCE, RTR and PTP.
3-5 years of experience with SAP Data Services and Data conversions. Experience in ALE/IDOC, LSMW, RDM/BPDM
Demonstrates a knowledge of Master Data Management domain
Ability to define work processes and lead team members in successful implementation and ongoing execution preferred
Ability to develop individuals and teams preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills preferred
Excellent organizational skills preferred
